*clears throat* okay, this comment may be old but i would just like to clarify some things. first of it's Merida, not miranda. second, so what if they won't be together in the movies? This is a crossover ship and it is meant to be that way. People are just doing this for fun and people like you just crush their fun (which is not cool) People ship jack and elsa and they are from two different companies and yet they are by far the most popular ship in the internet. People even petition to make a movie about Jelsa. Like seriously, leave the shippers alone! they know that this ship will never happen but they don't care, okay? i'm sorry but your just wasting your time telling people something they already know. It's like saying 'the sky is blue' or 'the grass is green'
This is absolutely lovely. You've done a wonderful job with Merida's hair, she looks superb. And the whole scene is sooo sweet. I love hiccup's goofy look.
However, I'm not taken with these two as a pair. Merida is brash and strong willed and as a partner to her Hiccup is a bit of a wet lettuce (not that I don't like Hiccup but he's not a strong enough personality for her). After the thrill of the Dragon had worn off, I'm afraid she'd just find him a little dull, get bored and wander off in search of new adventures.
I HNNGED and then I actually took a second to analyze just how perfect this is. He's totally okay with everything about that moment, probably even prancing through Valhalla in his mind. The body language is just great and I really, really like this sketch.
